Recommended for busy executives whose time is precious.

I recently did my reno with JS. The project was undertaken by Qing Yun. The scariest thing for any home owner is how much trust to put in given that hundred and one things can go wrong. So mine was a resale HDB and things really went wrong. Upstairs toilet ended up leaking, door installed wrong side by the door contractor, kena complaint from neighbour cos of the dust flying into her house, toilet fittings don’t fit after it was delivered due to the manufacturer fault etc. Honestly reno can be a super stressful process but QY took care of it every step of the way to make it much less stressful. Of cos I make the final decisions but she follows the project closely and I can check with her anytime about anything that I’m not sure. Even if she not sure and she need to check with her team first, she would still respond and let me know quickly. So basically, I can trust her 100% which I’m so thankful given all the horror stories on social media.

Our renovation journey went smoothly and of minimal worries because of JS CARPENTRY, JOJO NG. She is the best person that we could have asked for. She is extremely helpful and quick in getting things done. For example, when she promises us a task deadline of 5 days, it will be completed in 3 days. Generally, our renovation project was supposed to take around 2 months. However, Jojo managed to finish it a week earlier. Melissa has been a great blessing to my little family, you can’t go wrong with her! We contacted JS carpentry with the intent of building up a few carpentry pieces for storage and the laundry area. Melissa was assigned to us and from the very beginning she was so patient and attentive to our needs. We were specific and had very customised needs as well as design and Melissa always tried her best to understand and if she was not sure, she would ask to be sure of what we wanted. She never said no but instead always checked and tried to see if what we wanted could be delivered by the carpenters. I took 3 months post renovation to write this review as I want to make sure it’s as genuine as possible. I am glad to say that overall, the whole renovation experience was pleasant and the output had been excellent. Workmanship of the carpentry has been excellent, perhaps even better than what the condo had provided. My coordinator was KS, with Alvin supervising. I am glad that we have a good relationship with both of them throughout the renovation process. Even though they are coordinators, they also brought in design ideas (Alvin) which helped us to achieve the look and quality. There were some delays due to various factors, unforeseen or personal, but overall once the work started, it was very swift and the after service had been excellent. They sent people to rectify minor works multiple times after installation as we are somewhat a perfectionist. Last but not least, price quoted to us had been reasonable and it felt like we had used the best laminate, countertop material with good workmanship and yet at a reasonable price. They also provided drawings and 3D designs with multiple iterations to our requested changes as part of the renovation package. Would like to thank the company, Alvin and KS for making this renovation a really pleasant one and hope to work with the company again for other projects.

I would like to compliment Melissa, our account manager from JS Carpentry, for overseeing the recent carpentry work in our kitchen, bedrooms, and bathrooms. This is my second time using JS Carpentry, having first engaged them in 2021. Impressed by their quality and transparent pricing, I chose to work with them again. On the day of our initial meeting, my assigned account manager fell ill and had to postpone. Due to my schedule, I requested a reassignment, and Melissa was swiftly appointed. She contacted me that morning and met with me that same afternoon, accompanied by an associate. With a clear vision of the project, the meeting went smoothly, and Melissa was attentive to my requirements. She provided a quotation within two days, and all revisions were promptly addressed. He is hardworking, consistently responding to our WhatsApp messages within minutes, even on weekends. We highly recommend anyone looking for to renovate their houses to engage Nic Tan from JS Carpentry, because is always ahead of schedule, meticulous, gives practical sound advice when we faced options, and always willing to go the extra mile to make sure the renovations are well done. Although our renovation was planned to complete in Mar/Apr 2024, Nic managed the timeline superbly throughout the CNY period and across the multiple contractors including electrician, air-con installations, toilet and kitchen door installations, tiling of toilets, installation of carpentry and bathroom installations, and completed months ahead of deadline. It was a fuss free experience as Nic balanced very well between checking in with us on decisions that would have significant aesthetics effect, e.g. how high to put the tile holders in toilets, vs helping us to make decisions based on his rich experience that would be no regrets, e.g. the tiling of toilet tiles so that the wall and floor grouts are nicely aligned. Nic was also very meticulous in his works and ensuring that his contractors carry out the work to a high standard, and after the works were completed, there were very little touch ups needed as the initial completed work were perfect. Nic also took care of the details such as making sure that the floor trap covers in toilets used the same tiles as the floor tiles, and providing floor trap gutters that help to cover the holes in the floor traps, without us having to ask for it. Nic also provided practical advice such as choosing materials and design that fit our theme, and materials which are good value for money, i.e. high quality and worth every cent of it. As we were first time home owners and were not familiar with the details to look out for, Nic would help to point out the small but important details to our attention that could make a big difference, e.g. how the vinyl could transition nicely with the tiled kitchen floors, how the edge of the tiles in the toilet would transition with the window edges. We appreciated that he took the time and effort, drawing on his experience, to point out these details to us so that we can make the right decisions before works began. Nic also went the extra mile in making sure that the renovations are well done. There was an occasion where we ordered furniture from overseas which came in wooden crates. Even though these were not from JS Carpentry, Nic got his guys to help remove the wooden crates so as to protect the vinyl flooring underneath. Or the other time when we ordered new toilet sink traps, and Nic helped to replace the previously installed traps with the newly purchased ones. All in all, we highly recommend engaging Nic from JS Carpentry for your renovation.

We hired JS Carpentry for a complete renovation of the dry and wet kitchens as well as the conversion of a maid toilet into a washing area. This involved wall removal, retiling, carpentry, electrical, plumbing and polishing work. Caroline Huang was assigned to us as project coordinator. JS Carpentry was not our lowest quote. However, we decided to choose them because, from the first visit of the site, Caroline gave us the confidence that the technical details of the projects were assessed properly with some insights that clearly evidenced her hand-on experience in handling such jobs. We feel we made the right decision as the work was done perfectly and within our relatively tight deadline, with some unavoidable minor defects rectified promptly to our entire satisfaction. Caroline was patient with us in the choice of laminate and tiles, and very effective in coordinating the different teams involved in the renovation. To be noted that all workers assigned to our project were highly qualified and professional. Altogether a good experience. We recommend JS Carpentry and Caroline as coordinator.

The team was able to rush for the completion of the renovation within 5 weeks, and was able to accommodate to minor touch up the earliest they could. There’s definitely unexpected changes during the renovation, the team could still quickly address the issues and responded to my concerns. It was a long journey before I finalized with JS Carpentry as it was my first renovation � (total noob). In fact I got to know JS Carpentry thru one of our neighbours. Decided to engage JS carpentry after comparing quotes with another ID firm. Alvin Goh was the project manager assigned for my new place. I remembered meeting him at JS carpentry and the first impression was warming, he kept re-assuring me that the renovation would be under control. He is friendly and approachable and could come up with many innovative ideas to piece them together. He followed closely to my proposed ideas and transformed my place into reality. There were hiccups on and off but nothing could not be resolved at the end of the day. His team (electrician & plumber) are superb as well. They are ever so willing to share anything that you asked them. Throughout the renovation journey, Alvin was very responsive and replied to messages promptly. He is still very much the same responsiveness even after I officially moved into my new place too! As for the quotation, there were no hidden clauses or items, everything was pen-down black and white and signed-off by both parties. Total transparency. Apart from the renovation at my place, Alvin has also recommended carpenter to fix up my mum’s hanging shelvings at her place within the week. The carpentry works were great 😊. He also did assist us on the aircon installation and also gave us a lot suggestion and ideas like color matching for Cabinet/wall etc. I remember when I told Jim that I need to move my furnitures in earlier due to storage issue, he offered his help by cleaning our house together before the furnitures move in, he also assisted to coordinate and make sure the movers place our furnitures at the correct position so that it won’t affect his unfinished works which I think not all ID/contractor willing to help regards on these. JS Carpentry and my assigned project coordinator Caroline Huang have been superb in the renovation of my home. The speed far surpassed my expectations with everything completed well within the tight deadline given. The workmanship, especially carpentry, is also top notch. After providing the design ideas, reference photos and floor plan at the first meeting, Caroline quickly followed up with a quotation exactly per what I wanted. In the first meet up after confirming JS Carpentry, she has already put my descriptions into drawings that were so accurate we could immediately start selecting laminates. Working with Caroline has been immensely pleasant. She has an eye for details and an innate sense of good design. Although soft-spoken, Caroline is very authoritative. She provides professional inputs decisively with the clear aim of ensuring the design looks good and is also functional. I observed her working well with the carpenters, plumbers etc. who all respect her views and follow her directives. She quietly takes note of everything I asked for and ensure they are done, even if some are scheduled for weeks later on the renovation timeline. During the renovation, the contractors were able to identify issues in my very old resale condo and promptly reported them to me. This allowed us to rectify them early, which prevented major headaches in future. The carpenters of JS Carpentry take pride in their work as evidenced by the superb workmanship. A team of carpenters was sent to do final touch ups after the cleaning to ensure every door opened smoothly and every crack was covered. One of them took nearly a whole morning painting every joint line on every tube of the fluted panel so it would look uniform. In the last few weeks of renovation and the month after my move, Caroline got defects (which were minor) rectified quickly. She is always a WhatsApp message away and would arrange to fix the issue within the next 2-3 days. The contractors who came not only corrected the defects I pointed out, but took the time to comb through the house rectifying others I didn’t even notice before. I highly recommend JS Carpentry and especially Caroline Huang for anyone’s home renovation projects. She did a wonderful job providing design ideas and coordinating their contractors as well as others I engaged for separate works such that everything progressed quickly and smoothly. Friends I’ve told my renovation experience to told me I’m “super lucky” to have gotten such a great contractor!

My contact person was Raymond Toh. Seamless interaction with him from pre-planning to completion. Fast and easy interaction on how we would like our house to look like and he provided further advice to elevate our space. Satisfied with the outcome. All works done fast with minor errors. Rectification was also done quickly. Would strongly recommend JS Carpentry if you are looking for a hassle free renovation journey!

Have worked with Steven (contractor) to do the reno and carpentry works for my previous place 7 years ago and again this year for our new place and my husband and I are v pleased with his work ethics and quality of work delivered. When we have any issues we will discuss with him and he is always contactable and will try to find a solution everyone is pleased with. He is reliable n pleasant to work with!

First time doing renovation and I was introduced to JoJo. Jojo is patient and friendly. She is very sincere in her customer service, and she always try her best to help us with the design we are looking for. Jojo also knows her stuff well. She picks up what I want and delivered what was expected. Speaking to her feels comfortable especially during the times when I have to choose the colour for carpentry. Look for Jojo if you are interested in reno.

When i received the first proposal - i already knew JS pricing is reasonable as i worked with contractors before.
